Political LTE: Philip Atwood supports Tom Charlton

To the Editor:

My letter is in support of Tom Charlton for reelection to the Vermont House of Representatives for Athens, Chester, Grafton, and Windham. Several other concerned citizens have written all about him, so I will try to amplify why I think you might want to vote for him to continue in another term in Monpelier.

He has a post-and-beam business that gives him a leg up when talking about the cost, permitting, quality control, and scheduling for new housing construction and rehabilitation of existing housing.

From what I have heard, he stood up pretty well in his debut and learned his way around the Capitol. The fact that he held his own in the legislature and maintained his business and paid his bills and taxes would be enough praise to earn my vote.

In addition, he is a fiscal conservative, which the legislature really needs a lot more of.

As I’ve had a long career as a land surveyor and real estate broker, I have acquired an eye for judging people’s character, and Tom is, in my opinion, solid, dependable, and dedicated to what is best for Vermont.

Please consider a vote for Tom so he can continue his good work.

Sincerely,

Philip E. Atwood,

Chester, Vt.
