LTE: Tony Petrillo on ICE

Dear Editor,

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) murders we witnessed in Minneapolis over the last two weeks are only the tip of the ICEberg! We haven’t heard much of some of the others, because those are people of color and the press doesn’t cover that.

ICE is on track to have 100 deaths if they keep up the pace they have this year.

People say, “How can you call them ‘Nazis’ or ‘Gestapo?’” Simply look at the videos; they attack innocent bystanders, American citizens, people driving down the street.

Their behavior has been despicable, unlawful, unconstitutional, and inhumane.

Professional law enforcement doesn’t behave the way ICE has behaved.

I doubt that J.D. Vance would suggest that his wife, a woman of color, drive down to Main Street in Minneapolis with their children in the car.

The federal paramilitary army invading Minneapolis needs to be withdrawn, and all enforcement by ICE needs to stop until it can be truly addressed against people who have committed crimes.

This is not the America we ever imagined, nor should we tolerate.

Sincerely,

Tony Petrillo
