SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – Join Springfield Community Players for the debut of “Zip Zap Zombies: Actors and the Apocalypse,” an original dark comedy with “bite” from Springfield playwright and director Josie Munroe.
“Zip Zap Zombies” follows a group of adult acting students barricaded together in the wake of a zombie apocalypse. As the threat shifts from the external to the interpersonal, theater skills become survival skills, and characters who are trained to perform find themselves hilariously off script.
The ensemble cast features new and veteran Community Players: Abbi Carpenter, Sean Dabney, Tom Field, Xzavior Fitzwater, Heath Foster, Kallah Turner, and Ashlee White.
“Zip Zap Zombies: Actors and the Apocalypse” will be performed Sept. 19 and 26, at 7 p.m.; and Sept. 20 and 27, at 2 p.m., at the Community Players Studio, 165 South Street in Springfield, Vt. Group discounts are available. Theatergoers can also opt for a show-themed Survival Snack Pack, a limited-number special featuring “emergency rations and supplies” to enjoy during intermission, with proceeds supporting the SCP roof-repair fund.
