WoodLife Carving Festival returns to Chester

CHESTER, Vt. – The WoodLife Carving Festival returns to Chester for its second year Oct. 10-12, bringing more than 15 talented chainsaw carvers together for a three-day celebration of chainsaw carving, woodworking, food, and family fun.

Visitors will have the opportunity to watch carvers work throughout the weekend as they transform logs into unique works of art. Carvings will also be available for purchase, giving attendees the chance to take home a one-of-a-kind piece created at the festival.

The festival will feature four quick-carve events throughout the weekend. These fast-paced carving competitions give spectators a chance to watch a carving take shape from start to finish before the finished pieces are auctioned. New this year, quick-carve times are Saturday, at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.; Sunday, at 1 p.m.; and Monday, at 1 p.m.

In addition to the carving, guests can enjoy chair massages for those looking to relax and take a break while attending the festival. For the kids, there will also be a face painter on site.

There will be plenty of options for hungry visitors, with food vendors serving a variety of delicious foods throughout the festival, along with everyone’s favorite fair-style treat, fried dough.

Admission is inexpensive for adults, and children are admitted free. Each paid admission includes a raffle entry for a chance to win a free carving. Additional raffle tickets will also be available to purchase for those who would like more chances to win.

The WoodLife Carving Festival will be held at 1126 Vermont Route 103 North, Chester, Vt. Festival hours are Saturday, Oct. 10, and Sunday, Oct. 11, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; and Monday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Whether you are a longtime fan of chainsaw carving or have never seen a log transformed into a work of art, the WoodLife Carving Festival offers something for everyone. Come watch the carvers work, meet the artists, enjoy some good food, shop local, and see what amazing creations come out of the logs this year.
