SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – The Rotary Club of Springfield, Vt. will host its fourth annual live butterfly release fundraiser on Friday, Aug. 22. Donors can purchase butterflies to release in support of Rotary’s community service projects.

According to past Rotary Club President Karen Longo, the event offers a meaningful way to remember and celebrate loved ones who have passed away. “Over the past three years, we’ve released more than 500 butterflies and raised nearly $5,000 for local community projects,” Longo said. “This fundraiser provides a beautiful way to honor our friends and family.”

“We encourage donors to release butterflies in remembrance or celebration of a loved one,” she added. All butterflies will be of the Painted Lady variety, which is native to the region.

Butterflies can be purchased on Fridays at the Concerts at the Comtu, or through any Springfield Rotary Club member.

Founded in 1927, the Rotary Club of Springfield is a vibrant group of over 40 members dedicated to local and international community service. For more information or to download the butterfly order form, visit springfieldvtrotary.org.
