Springfield Community Band concert season begins

SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – The Springfield Community Band’s 2025 concert season begins on Tuesday, June 17, and continues on Tuesday evenings, in Springfield, throughout the summer.

The band, under the direction of Nick Pelton, will kick off the season with a concert on June 17, at 7:30 p.m., under the tent at the Hartness House Inn, 109 Front Street, Springfield, Vt.

The band has worked hard through the winter to add many new pieces to its repertoire, and this concert is the first of two “new music” concerts where the band will debut this music.

From “The Best of the Boy Bands,” to the rollicking “Merry-Go-Round” by Yukiko Nishimura, to “Caravan” by Duke Ellington, to the music of Stephen Sondheim, to theme songs from favorite Western movies of old, the evening will be a sampling of a wide range of music, spanning many styles and decades.

The band is excited about the music it will present this the summer, and there’s more of its new music to come next week.

The concert will go on, rain or shine. Food and drink will be available for purchase.

This should be a great start to the season. The band invites you to take part in the fun.

Please note that unforeseen circumstances could result in program changes.
