Next Stage celebrates 16 years of arts, community, connection

PUTNEY, Vt. – Next Stage Arts invites the community to celebrate its Sweet 16 on Friday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. The free, all-ages evening marks 16 years of programming and the 10th anniversary of the renovation that transformed the historic building at 15 Kimball Hill into the multifaceted community and performing arts space it is today.

The celebration will include cake, popcorn, and snacks, a live instrumental trio, a cash bar, and a DJ dance party upstairs beginning at 7:30 p.m. Community members are encouraged to come celebrate, reconnect, and dance. Admission is free; RSVP information is available at www.nextstagearts.org.

The evening will also unveil a new installation of three community-made banners centered on Next Stage’s core values. Created with input and support from people throughout the community, the banners serve as a public expression of the organization’s commitments for the years ahead.

Visitors can also stop by the gallery to view Next Stage’s strategic plan, learn about upcoming workshops with Amber Paris, and share their thoughts about the organization’s future.

“Next Stage has always been shaped by the people who gather here,” said Heather Ahrenholz, Next Stage’s communications director. “This celebration is both a chance to honor what the community has made possible over the past 16 years and to share our commitment to what comes next.”

This event is supported by the Vermont Community Foundation’s Arts & Social Cohesion grant, which helps fund this celebration and other community events throughout the year.
