Holiday songs and storytelling at Ludlow Town Hall

LUDLOW, Vt. – Let Gypsy Reel bring you home for the holidays, with a special wassail evening at Ludlow’s town hall, on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 7 p.m.

There’ll be something for everyone on your list when the area’s favorite Celtic band, featuring Camille Parker on mandolin and bodhran, Claudine Langille on banjo and octave mandolin, Graham Parker on fiddle, and special guest Jon Clinch on guitar, starts up this centuries-spanning celebration of festive music. You’ll enjoy wassails, beloved carols, Christmas favorites, traditional Celtic instrumentals, and a few unexpected surprises, too. In between, Clinch will share a favorite passage or two from Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” and his award-winning companion novel “Marley.”

Mark your calendar now, and don’t miss this chance to tune up your Christmas spirit. Sponsored by Friends of Ludlow Auditorium (FOLA), the event is free, and doors will open at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call 802-228-3238.
