PROCTORSVILLE, Vt. – The Cavendish Community and Conservation Association and the Town of Cavendish invite everyone to spend an evening on the Svec Memorial Green in Proctorsville, on Wednesday, July 30, starting at 6 p.m., when the annual summer music series is thrilled to have Bow Thayer and Krishna Guthrie perform.

Sometimes there is almost a telepathic sense between musicians. Bow Thayer and Krishna Guthrie have whatever that may be – an X-factor that lies beyond musical synergy. Set lists are rarely used, and on good days a flow is quickly established within a weave of improvisation, original songs and the occasional cover. Bouncing between different instruments – bass, guitar, banjo, bojo, ukulele, foot drums, etc. – the duo work out whatever makes sense for the current environment they are in. Shows are never duplicated or planned, they just kind of happen.

Both musicians have seasoned backgrounds that are easily researched for the curious, however, both will tell you that it is unimportant, and even distracting, to look back. Whether it’s making old songs sound new or new songs sound old, the duo strives to relish in the timeless realm of the present. Because that’s really all there is.

Join your friends and neighbors in front of the gazebo on the Green. Bring a blanket or a comfortable chair. Goodman’s American Pie will be dishing up their great pizza, and Murdock’s and Singleton’s all have takeout food options, or just settle in and enjoy the music. It’s a fun way to enjoy the summer weather and either reconnect with old friends, or make new ones.

A big shoutout to our sponsor Gassetts Group, homebuilders with a legacy of building quality and custom homes with a focus on energy efficiency in Ludlow, Vt.

As always, the concerts are free and open to the public. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the Proctorsville Fire Department Hall across the road.
