LANGDON, N.H. – The Special Olympics Upper Valley Regional Games took place Jan. 25 at Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme, N.H. The Fall Mountain Special Olympics team brought four snowshoe racers, two alpine ski racers, and two snowboarders to the event. The FMSO team had a stellar day of competition!
For the snowshoe team, each athlete raced in three events and had a great showing. Sean Anderson placed second in the 100-meter and third in the 200-meter and 50-meter races. Jacob Barboza won first in the 100 and 200-meter races and fourth in the 50-meter. Dalton Hutchinson had a solid fourth place finish in the 50, 100, and 200-meter races. Olivia Rounds came home with first place in the 25-meter and third place in the 50 and 100 meters.
In snowboarding, Bonnie Pelton had a fabulous day with two first place finishes in her division. James Morse won second place in slalom and first place in giant slalom. This was the first time James has ever won a blue ribbon, and he was ecstatic with this victory. The Alpine team also had great luck with Mariah Pratt securing two first place finishes and Patrick Cannon finishing third in both of his events.
The team now gears up for the Vermont State Games, which are held March 22-24 at Pico Mountain. Good luck to the whole team!
