SOUTH LONDONDERRY, Vt. – We are getting back to work this weekend with our 2nd Volunteer Day this Saturday. Folks will be meeting at the mountain at 8:30 a.m. to do what we do best: clean out those glades to get ready for the awesome tree skiing we missed last winter.
There will also be some painting projects for those not heading up the mountain. We will have a coffee taste-test going on at 8:30 with a potential new coffee vendor for this winter supplying the java. Then in the afternoon, the deck will have the grill going and some cold bevies for our Volunteers as we enjoy the beautiful peak fall foliage landscape.
In terms of the deal closing for the purchase of the ski area by SKI MAGIC LLC, the due diligence period is still taking place as more work needs to be done on a couple of issues critical to Magic’s future and successfully closing the transaction. It is expected to be resolved in the next two weeks. Once completed, then all those great season pass deals will be there for the taking. New website will be ready to sell those very affordable pass options at that time as well.
And, if you haven’t heard, Magic is joining the new Freedom Pass which benefits all our “unlimited”, non-restricted pass holders with 3 free days of skiing at each of 12 other independent ski areas across the country–at no extra cost!
In terms of mountain operations, work continues on the lifts, snowmaking system and trail maintenance so SKI MAGIC can hit the ground running when the deal does close– we have a very tight window until the season starts!
We will keep you posted on timing for the purchase closing and season pass sale. Thank you for your patience, and a special thank you to all who are giving their time and effort to make Magic happen through this transition period!
Hope you enjoy the Columbus Day weekend with friends and family wherever you are, but it sure is gorgeous here at Magic if you can make it.
Think snow soon!
