Kurn Hattin boys win small school championship at State Meet

WESTMINSTER, Vt. – The Vermont Recreation & Parks State Track and Field Meet took place Saturday, Aug. 3 at St. Johnsbury Academy. Fourteen teams with athletes ages 7-14 competed.

The Kurn Hattin boys won the small school state championship and finished 2nd overall in the 13-14 year old group behind Champlain Valley. Jacob Baltazar won the state title in the 400-meter dash, finished second in the 200-meter dash, and third in discus. Jakobie Graves-Amidon notched two second place finishes in shot put and discus, and Ethan Sumner finished third in long jump and the 200-meter dash. In the 11-12 year old division, Ryan Nguyen led Kurn Hattin with a victory in discus.
