CHESTER, Vt. – We are pleased and proud to announce that one of our winning teams in this year’s Jr. Iron Chef competition was invited to the Vermont Statehouse, to witness the reading of a Jr. Iron Chef Vermont Resolution, to be recognized by their House Representatives. They also had the chance to cook their award-winning recipes for the Legislators. We regret that only one of our winning teams from Green Mountain was able to participate this year; however, both teams were recognized and announced before the crowd of legislators and fellow Statehouse visitors when the resolution was read.

This demonstrates a significant accomplishment for both our teams: the Cheftains, and the Skillet Takes. The Cheftains went to the Statehouse. They toured the Statehouse and served their recipe. They served close to 100 portions to a delighted crowd of our legislators. Senator Alice Nitka even stopped by to say hello.

We have participated in this great event now for six years and have won four times. Jr. Iron Chef Vermont is something we all look forward to each year. It not only is a great learning experience, but lots of fun. Thank you to all who make it possible to be involved in a great event.
