BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – It is a pleasure to announce that Dora Jones has been named the March Elks Student of the Month for Bellows Falls Union High School. Dora, a senior, is the daughter of Peter and Donna Jones of Rockingham.
Clearly dedicated to academics, Dora has done a great job throughout high school making sure all of her academics are taken care of. As a result of this, she has been able to choose a unique path for her senior year. In addition to her studies at BFUHS, Dora is working and participating in the Work Based Learning Program, which requires great time management. Dora does an impressive job balancing the various requirements of these commitments, and she makes sure her work schedule fits with whatever schedule the school is running to meet all of her obligations.
Always friendly and helpful, Dora has a great attitude. Although slightly shy, she is friendly, witty, and genuinely cares about her peers. She goes out of her way to offer a friendly hello, a bright smile, and a helping hand where she sees a need. Dora always gives 100% to work, school, and work-study.
Despite the challenges of being pulled in many different directions and sometimes being double booked, Dora has done a great job balancing all facets of her life. She comes to school every day eager to learn and willing to participate in her classes and school activities. She brings the same enthusiasm to her job and her Work Based Learning placement.
Not only dedicated to her academics, Dora has participated in the field program and is an active member of the BFUHS Student Council. A quiet leader who serves as a good role model for both the BFUHS community and area community as well, BFUHS and the Elks are honored to have Dora represent us this month with this award.
