REGION – Mountain Garden Walks, sponsored by Green Mountain Gardeners, takes place Saturday, July 21, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This self-guided walking tour offers the opportunity to explore seven enchanting gardens in Peru, Landgrove, and Weston. Each garden captures the beauty of Vermont’s perennial, woodland, and native plants surrounded by stonewalls, bogs, and expansive vistas of mountains and meadows. Nurtured and tended by their owners, these gardens offer a feeling of serenity and quiet as you enjoy the art and beauty of gardening.

On the tour, you will discover a “house in a garden” where owners are surrounded by native woodland plants. At every property, you will enjoy a palette of colors and textures of distinctive designs using stone courtyards, terraced walls, and rustic barns. On the tour is a traditional English garden with bogs and ponds, a country flower garden complemented with vegetables, raspberries and blueberries, and perennials, grasses and native plants to attract pollinators. Most of all, these spectacular gardens reflect the environment and beauty of our Vermont landscape.

The tour begins at Peru Town Hall, 402 Main Street, Peru, Vt.
