LONDONDERRY, Vt. – This winter, Nor’east Trail Runs is offering a series of seven snowshoe races as part of its inaugural DION Nor’easter Seven Snowshoe Series, supported by title sponsor DION Snowshoes.
Featuring both evening and daytime races from 3k to 50k, the Nor’easter Snowshoe Series provides opportunities for everyone from first-time snowshoers to die-hard winter sports enthusiasts to get moving this winter.
Online registration is now open for all races in the DION Nor’easter Snowshoe Series. Day-of registration will also be available. All registrants will receive their choice of swag – water bottles, mugs, and hats – at check-in for each race.
“We put together the series to help runners and walkers achieve their goals this winter,” said co-race director Eliza Hamm. “All are welcome, whether you’re looking to notch another ultra on your list or you’ve never seen snow before. I love how the freedom of snowshoeing keeps you on the trails all season long, and you probably already have the gear you need. Also, the night races make for a great low-key date!”
Competitors who complete the longest distance at all seven races will earn a 2019-2020 season pass to Viking Nordic Center. Overall female and male series winners will also take home a pair of DION running snowshoes.
A limited number of DION running snowshoes will be available to demo. Demos will be available on a first come, first served basis in-person only before each race, so participants are advised to arrive early.
Discounts are available for runners tackling multiple races.
The Full Nor’easter 7 provides entry to all seven races in the 2019 Dion Nor’easter Snowshoe Series and includes a warm Nor’east Trail Runs beanie. Series points and prizes will also be awarded. Race dates include Jan. 18; Jan. 26; Feb. 1; Feb. 10; Feb. 22; March 3; and March 15.
The Night Owl Series provides entry to all four Friday night races under the lights at Viking Nordic Center. Remaining race dates include Feb. 1; Feb. 22; and March 15.
The Triple Crown Ultra Series provides entry to the longer distances at each daytime race. Races and dates are 10k on Jan. 26, half-marathon on Feb. 10, and 50k on March 3.
