WARREN, Vt. – Jasmine Bigelow, executive director of the Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce, has announced the launch of a new “Community Conversation Series.” “A groundswell of positive energy is spreading across the Valley,” noted Bigelow. “The goal of our new series is to inform and enlighten, share progress and optimism, and invigorate discussions around economic vitality in the Mad River Valley.”
The first event in the series is a panel discussion titled “A Conversation with the Ski Industry.” “The ski industry has changed dramatically over the last half decade,” noted Bigelow. “The current trend toward consolidation could have major impacts on the Mad River Valley’s independent ski areas, businesses, and community.”
The panel will include:
- Win Smith, president, Sugarbush Resort, and Board Chair, National Ski Areas Association
- Matt Lillard, general manager, Mad River Glen
- Eric Friedman, marketing director, Mad River Glen
- Molly Mahar, president, Vermont Ski Areas Association
- Mary McKhann, editor, The Snow Industry Letter
The event will take place Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 5-7 p.m. in the Gate House Lodge at Sugarbush Resort. There will be a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres, and live streaming on the Mad River Valley Facebook page, made possible by Mad River Valley Television.
Community members are encouraged to submit questions for the panel in advance. Please send your questions to email@example.com.
The community conversation series is made possible by Mad River Valley Chamber of Commerce partners Sugarbush Resort, Mad River Glen, Waitsfield Champlain Valley Telecom, and Jamieson Insurance.
