CHESTER, Vt. – Sally Anne (Keith) Pajala, 72, of Chester, Vt., passed away Monday, March 11, 2019 at the Jack Byrne Center for Palliative and Hospice Care in Lebanon, N.H. after a long struggle of COPD. Her family was with her.
She was born in Simonsville, Vt. Nov. 15, 1946 to William and Beverly (Huntoon) Keith of Londonderry, Vt. She is survived by her two sons Gregory Pajala and wife Suzanne of Winooski, Vt. and Bradley Pajala and grandsons Olavi Pajala and Jaakko Pajala all of Londonderry, Vt.; two sisters Karen Neely of Chester, Vt. and Jean Petraska and husband Tom of Andover, Vt.; a brother James Keith and wife Randee Keith of Londonderry, Vt.; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her Uncle Paul Keith of Framingham, Mass.
She was predeceased by her parents and brother William Keith.
Sally attended grade school in Londonderry, Vt. and is a 1964 graduate of Chester High School. She attended Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. After graduation, she worked in Boston as secretary to the vice president of the Provident Bank. For many years, she worked at Stratton Mt. Group in Bondville, Vt. She later received her securities license and opened her own real estate agency, Derry Village Real Estate in South Londonderry, Vt. Seeking a change of pace, she moved to Enfield, Conn. where she held the position of property manager of Bigelow Commons for several years. Eventually, she returned to Vermont and resumed her real estate career at Country Living Properties in Londonderry, Vt.
She is a member of Ladies Auxiliary Post 67 in Chester, Vt. She loved golf, sailing, cribbage, King Pede, gardening, and crossword puzzles. Sally loved her family and her little house on Breezy Lane.
A memorial service will be held in Chester Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational Church with a reception to follow at the American Legion.
