CHESTER, Vt. – Robert H. Mayoh, 87, of Chester, Vt., passed away Monday, Nov. 5, 2018. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Marcia (Warren) Mayoh; a brother Richard Mayoh of Conover, Wis.; sons Robert, Gary, and Scott Mayoh of Warwick, Johnston, and Providence, R.I., respectively; grandchildren Jason, Daisy Jo, Bapke and Evan Mayoh; and six great-grandchildren living in Rhode Island and the Netherlands. He is also survived by his stepchildren Susan, Jennifer, Kim, and Bruce Miller. He was the former husband of the late Barbara (McKenna) Mayoh of Cranston, R.I.
Born in Providence on May 17, 1931, he was the son of the late Viola (Irons) and Harry Mayoh, and grew up in North Providence, graduating from North Providence High School and Bryant College where he was class president. He served in the Marine Corps and then embarked on a diverse career in sales, with a later focus on the design, sale, and installation of above ground swimming pools.
He spent an active retirement with Marcia in Vermont and enjoyed many years of winter sports, especially skiing. He was an especially gifted athlete, possessed a droll wit, and sought enlightenment and meaning his entire life. He enjoyed a good meal, a glass of red wine, and especially the company of his family and his Jack Russells. He will be greatly missed.
Arrangements by the Davis Memorial Chapel of Springfield, Vt. His family plans a scattering of his ashes on his property in Chester and to hold a remembrance of his life in the spring.
