BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – Rachael L. James, of Bellows Falls, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at her home on Westminster Street. She was born on Nov. 10, 1958, in Springfield, Vt., the daughter of Frank and Margarite (DeRosia) Barcomb. She graduated from the Bellows Falls school system and attended college. She assisted for many years in the schools as a classroom aide. Rachael loved animals and crochet blankets, which she gave to people who needed them.
In 1984, she married Walter James III, who has predeceased her.
She is survived by her loving son, Troy James, of Bellows Falls; her mother, Margarite Barcomb; and a sister, Kathy Fisher. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rachael was predeceased by her husband, and her father, Frank Barcomb.
Visitation was held June 5, from 1-1:45 p.m., when a brief service was held at the Fenton and Hennessey Funeral Home, 55 Westminster Steet, Bellows Falls, Vt. Burial followed at Saxtons River Cemetery.
