WALPOLE, N.H.
- Marjorie Ruth (Graves) Fry, 94, of County Road passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018. Marjorie was born in Walpole, N.H. on Oct. 22, 1923, the daughter of Tom and Helen (Willson) Graves. She grew up on the farm in Walpole and was a graduate of Walpole Academy. She was a nurse cadet during World War II, training at Elliot Community Hospital in Keene. She worked as a registered nurse at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital where she helped deliver many local babies. Marjorie was also a school nurse for many years at all three schools in Westminster, Vt. She was a Cub Scout leader and helped coach sports at Westminster Center School.

She lived in Westminster Station, Vt. for 28 years, and then she built a house on the farm where she grew up in Walpole and resided there for the rest of her life. She enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels that she fed on the deck overlooking the pond. And on more than one occasion, she photographed the black bear that visited to feed on the birdseed – once when the sliding door to the deck was open!

She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and was extremely proud of them. Marjorie also enjoyed traveling to St. John’s Newfoundland to visit Harvey’s family there. She made her last trip in 2006 with her family. In retirement, she enjoyed many card games of pitch and bridge with friends and family. She also enjoyed a fierce rivalry of “Screw Your Neighbor” (card game) with her baby sister Becky. In later years she kept informed of family and friends by way of Facebook. She also played “Words with Friends” on the internet.

She is survived by her son Charles Thomas Fry and partner Laurie Capella of Winchester, N.H.; her granddaughter Alison Emily Cameron and husband Paul Cameron; her great granddaughters Natalie Ruth Cameron, Lucy Fry Cameron, Maeve Lily Cameron all of Portland, Maine; granddaughter Stephanie Fry and great grandson Kaysen Christian Fry Pitula of Portland, Maine; her granddaughter Caroline Elizabeth Fry and partner Brad Olson, great granddaughter Elizabeth Emily Olson, great grandson Leland Duane Olson of Dexter, Maine; her daughter in-law Sylvia Child Fry of Walpole, N.H.; her son Douglas John Fry of Ware, Mass; her son Barry Curtis Fry of Alstead, N.H. and wife Leslie Ann Fry of Springfield, Vt., granddaughter Andrea Ruth Bernard, great grandson Alexander Ryan Bernard of North Walpole, grandson Anthony Michael Fry and wife Sara Fry, great grandson Wyatt Anthony Fry of Walpole; her son Peter Moss Fry of Westminster, Vt., grandson Joshua Thomas Fry of Westminster, Vt. and partner Megan Cormier, granddaughter Brittany Anna Bailly and husband Henry Bailly, great granddaughter Lyla Anna Bailly of Bellows Falls, Vt., grandson Cameron James Shaughnessy Fry of North Walpole; her sister Becky (Graves) Hubbard of Walpole; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Harvey Douglas Fry, her parents, and her brothers William, John, and Edward Graves.

There will be a graveside service at a later date, to be announced. Arrangements are in the care of Fenton & Hennessey Funeral Home.
