LUDLOW, Vt. – Margaret P. Farrar, 90, passed away Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018 at the Gill Odd Fellows Home in Ludlow, Vt. She was born Sept. 30, 1928 at the family home on 20 Mile Stream in Cavendish, Vt., the daughter of Ralph and Miriam (Dix) Briggs. She attended Cavendish schools.
She married Robert Farrar. He predeceased her.
She was employed as a machinist at LoveJoy Tool Co. in Springfield, Vt., for many years.
Margaret and her husband enjoyed square dancing, camping, fishing, and traveling. They traveled to Texas and Arizona to visit family and wintered in Florida for many years, eventually moving to Zephyr Hills, Fla., where they resided for over 10 years.
She is survived by her son Steven Farrar of Fair Haven, Vt., one sister Cathy Fletcher of Walpole, N.H., six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Robert, one son Robert Jr., and four brothers – Myron, Herman, Herbert, and Robert.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018 at the Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, Vt. Reverend Gerry Piper will officiate.
