George V. Johnson, 1948-2025 🇺🇸

PERU, Vt. – George V. Johnson, 76, died unexpectedly at his home, on Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025. He is survived by his beloved soulmate Donna Wyman, who was his joy and happiness. He was born March 29, 1948, in New Haven, Conn., the son of Herbert and Ann (Reynolds) Johnson. He is a Vietnam War veteran who served in the U. S. Army Infantry/Signal Corps from 1967-1969, and was awarded commendations for his service.

George received a citizenship award in high school, and worked with his father and brother in the building industry as a roofer for many years. He worked in a pet store and raised tropical fish, and later was an Antique Dealer.

He enjoyed fishing, raising tropical fish, and spending time with friends and family. He will be remembered for his kind and mild ways, and incredible laugh.

He also leaves his brother Roland (“Rolie”) Johnson, sisters Gail Naiden and Beverly Efland, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rolie said, “He was a great brother.”

A funeral service will be held at on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 2 p.m., at the Second Congregational Church in Londonderry, Vt. The Rev. Laurie Krooss, pastor, will officiate.

Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, in Londonderry, in the spring.

Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, Vt., is assisting with arrangements.
