BALTIMORE, Vt. – Delbert E. Foster, 80, passed away at his home in Baltimore, Vt., Saturday morning, Nov. 23, 2019. He was born in Springfield, Vt. Aug. 27, 1939, the son of Leon and Clarabelle Foster. He attended Springfield schools and graduated from Springfield High School. He served in the National Guard for many years, retiring as a staff sergeant.
He married Suzanne Noyes in 1996 in Londonderry, Vt. She predeceased him July 30, 2017.
Delbert was employed as a carpenter in the area for many years and worked for several years with Whelen Engineering in Charlestown, N.H. before his retirement. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and watching old western movies. He was a loving and caring husband to his wife Suzanne.
He is survived by son George Bargfrede and his wife Lorraine of Baltimore, Vt., four granddaughters Janel (Travis) Palmieri of Chester, Vt., Larissa Bargfrede of Weathersfield, Vt., Candace Bargefrede of Baltimore, Vt., and Marcia Herman of Denver, N.C.; and one great-grandson Mile Palmieri. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Suzanne, and by one sister.
A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, Vt. is assisting with arrangements.
