LONDONDERRY, Vt. – “Lions and tigers and bears. Oh my!” Where are they? Well, the bears are in the woods, and the tigers are in the zoo; but the Lions are everywhere!
Lions Club International is the world’s largest service organization with clubs in over 200 countries. There are 34 clubs in Vermont including one right here in the Londonderry Tri-Mtn area. The Tri-Mtn club has provided monetary assistance in the purchase of eyeglasses for those in need in our community and provided rides to our senior citizens to attend local functions. We do the vision screening for over 500 students yearly in the Tri-Mtn area. We have food drives for the local food pantry and donate to local causes.
We meet twice a month at Neighborhood Connections Meeting Place on the second and fourth Thursday of the month at 7 p.m. We need more of the members of the community to join us, come to a meeting, and see what we are doing. We are having a contest where one winner will receive a free year’s membership to our club. All you need to do is send your name to firstname.lastname@example.org. The winner’s name will be drawn at our June 28 meeting.
You don’t like to attend meetings? That’s okay; we need members who just want to participate in a single event a year.
