BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – Wow! What a tremendous, delicious, free Thanksgiving Dinner provided for the communities of Bellows Falls and North Walpole this past Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018. Co-chairmen Doug Roberts and Donny Stocker ran an efficient and exciting event for everyone to enjoy.
Roberts said, “We are thrilled at the response that the American Legion receives year after year. So many people come to share their time and dinner with us. It has become a tradition, and we look forward to it each year.”
The tables were set up in sequence by Lenore Harty who looked forward to making sure everyone had what’s needed and were comfortable.
Stocker added, “The Legion had over 20 volunteers from the Ladies Auxiliary, Sons of the Legion, Elks, and the Emblem Club.” Simone Perrault and the Ladies also brought 30 scrumptious homemade pies.
The Legion Commander Smokey Aumand chimed in. “This annual event cannot happen without all of the volunteers who give up their own family time to serve others. That is what part of the American Legion family membership is all about. Doug, Donny, Simone, and their volunteer crews served over 244 community guests.”
