BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – American Legion Auxiliary Unit #37 from Bellows Falls would like to thank the following people for their generous support of the second annual Tree of Warmth project. Your knitted and crocheted hats, mittens, scarves, children outfits were donated to the veterans and their families at the White River Junction VA Hospital in November.
Thank you to Pat and Alan Fowler who graciously opened up Village Square Booksellers to receive completed items; Lisa Bingham, Tammy Westney, Virginia McGuire from Iowa; Marie Benway and Brenda Lindblade from the Knitting Together group that meets weekly at Village Square Booksellers; Alisha Beam and her mom for the numerous baby outfits; and Kim Aumand and Linda Perham for the donation of large bags of yarn. Thank you to anyone else I may have missed as some donations were left with no names. We appreciate your generosity.
The Tree of Warmth was held for four days this year because of the overwhelming amount of veterans and their families who attended the two-day event in 2017. We will be requesting your assistance again for 2019, and we have yarn to hand out to start early. Please contact President Marcy Smith for more information, firstname.lastname@example.org.
