LUDLOW, Vt. – On Tuesday, May 1, the Ludlow Elementary School Parent Teacher Group and the Black River Middle High School Booster Club sponsored a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon for the faculty and staff of both schools, as well as several retired faculty and staff. The buffet style luncheon, provided by parents, community members, and some local businesses, was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Many thanks to DJ’s, Coleman Brook Tavern, Black River Produce, Shaw’s, Subway, Stemwinder, Sweet Surrender Bakery, and all those who made this truly a wonderful event. Thank you also to those who accommodated all of our requests during set up.

The dessert table was second to none – complete with real strawberry shortcake! During dessert time, Natasha Fortin and Christina LeTourneau sang some beautiful melodies for our honored guests – thank you, ladies! And thank you to Katie Herrle for teaching the girls to sing together so well. Special thanks to Marcia Dockum and Rachel Karner for having their students create the wonderfully unique teacher favors – the owls were absolutely adorable.

As the meal was coming to an end, John Bannon got everyone’s attention and said, “I was just thinking to myself, ‘John, someone should say something’, so I’m saying something. Being here… the sun shining… this is community.”
