SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – Gallery at the VAULT’s 9th annual Chocolate Tasting Feb. 2 was a rousing success with some 125 people stopping by to sample chocolate confections from area bakers and candy makers.
Kathi Byam’s lovely flute music wafted through the gallery as people chatted with their neighbors, admired the annual Student Art Show as well as the creations of VAULT’s 160 Vermont and area artists. This annual event is free with donations going towards VAULT’s community art initiatives. This year’s donations will help fund the repainting of VAULT’s historic 1907 facade, a real gem on Springfield’s Main Street.
Many thanks to this year’s Chocolate donors: Aroma Catering, Heritage Bakery, Hartness House Inn, Inn at Weathersfield, Lake Champlain Chocolates, Red Kite Candy, Shaw’s Supermarket, Springfield Food CO-OP, and Vermont Country Store.
Thank you to art teachers Meredith Pelton from Springfield High School, Marguerite Janiszyn from Riverside Middle School, and Lisa Robarts from Union Street School for sharing some of the work they’ve accomplished with their students this year. Thank you to all of Springfield’s teachers who explore art with their students! Please do stop in and see the Art Show that will be up until Feb. 25. We’ve even saved some chocolate for you to enjoy.
Part of this chocolate and art show event is VAULT’s annual “Art is Many Places” raffle that will continue until the first day of spring. Put your tickets in for the items you wish to win. Thank you to this year’s raffle donors: Woodbury Florist, Snap Fitness, Images Salon, Northern Stage, Lake Champlain Chocolates, Claremont Spice, Rob O’Brien, Rich Cofrancesco, Diane Kemble, and Pat Belknap.
Aren’t we so fortunate to live in such a generous and creative community?
