LUDLOW, Vt. – The October meeting of the GFWC Okemo Valley Women’s Club was held Monday, Oct. 14, 2019. Sixteen members attended the meeting including one new member, Connie Noiva, who was inducted by Roxie Davis, membership chairwoman.
Instead of a guest speaker, President Darlene Remy spoke about the Wellness Wheel, which guides people through determining their individual wellness through six or more components of wellness – physical, social, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, financial, and environmental. President Remy explained how each relates to the planned club programs for the 2019-20 year as well.
Committee reports were given and discussed including membership and the upcoming Tree of Remembrance 2019 fundraising campaign. Old and new business was discussed, including volunteer projects and fundraising initiatives. Patty Greenwood brought with her a copy of a Pennsylvania GFWC Women’s Club scrapbook from years ago, which was unique and more than interesting to peruse during the meeting.
This year’s slate of meetings at the state, regional, and national levels were also discussed, including the State Winter meeting to be held in Ludlow and hosted by the Okemo Valley Women’s Club. Festive fall refreshments were served by October’s hostesses.
The next meeting of the GFWC Okemo Valley Women’s Club will be held Monday, Nov. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Black River Valley Senior Center in Ludlow, Vt. Anyone wishing to attend should contact President Darlene Remy, 802-228-4907, or Roxie Davis, 802-226-7417, or any club woman.
