SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – The Edgar May Health and Recreation Center is pleased to announce that Julia Lamb is joining our team as the new aquatics coordinator.
Julia grew up in Springfield, and started teaching lessons at the Springfield town pool when she was 15. She continued to do so through her time at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Fla. She moved to Tampa, Fla., shortly after graduating, and worked as an aquatics director until 2009, when she started her own club swim team. Since then, Julia has worked with beginners to NCAA and national level swimmers. In 2021, she even took a swimmer to the Olympic Trials in Omaha, Neb.
After spending more than 25 years in Florida, Julia moved back home to be closer to family. “I am excited to join the amazing crew at the EdgarMay, and get to know my hometown again,” she says.
In her role as the aquatics coordinator at the EdgarMay, Julia will be managing the pool deck, overseeing the lifeguarding staff, coordinating group and private swim lessons, and coaching the Stingrays youth swim team and co-coaching the Masters Swim program with director of health and wellness Kristen Miller.
“We are very excited to have Julia back in a larger capacity at the EdgarMay. She has helped out over the past two years from time to time, and the community has really enjoyed her positive energy and significant aquatic expertise,” says Christian Craig, Edgar May Health and Recreation Center executive director.
Please join us in welcoming Julia back into our EdgarMay community.
