Diaper bank to host fourth annual Diaper Dump

BELLOWS FALLS/SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – The Greater Falls Diaper Bank is the first of its kind in the state of Vermont. This collaborative partnership started in 2016 and includes the following organizations Building Bright Futures, Parks Place Community Resource Center, Springfield Area Parent Child Center, Windham Northeast Supervisory Union, and Youth Services of Windham County.

The Greater Falls Diaper Bank gave out over 8,500 diapers last year to any family requesting them at one of our pick up locations: Parks Place in Bellows Falls or Springfield Area Parent Child Center in North Springfield. Other than collecting a name and town of residence, this is a “no questions asked” program that would not be possible without diaper donations from countless supportive community members and organizations.

If not for access to this program, many families would be forced to choose between buying food or purchasing diapers – a choice no parent should ever have to make. So, the Greater Falls Diaper Bank is preparing to host the fourth annual Diaper Dump Thursday, April 30, 2020, to help continue meeting this important need.

The Diaper Dump will be held at Dari Joy in Bellows Falls, and the Springfield Area Parent Child Center in North Springfield, between noon and p.m. Those who donate will receive a coupon for one complimentary Dari Joy ice cream cone. Community members are encouraged to donate diapers in all sizes, but there is a higher need for larger sized diapers and pull ups, and wipes are always appreciated, as well.

Join the Facebook event for updates on drop-off locations that will be available throughout the entire month of April. For more information, or to become a drop-off site, please contact Megan Applegate at 802-463-9927.
