LONDONDERRY, Vt. – According to a report from the National Funeral Directors Association, within the last couple of years, just over half 50.2 percent of American chose cremation while 43.5 percent opted for burial. Though the trend is relatively new, the cremation rate actually exceeded the burial rate in 2015. The reasons for this shift are as varied as the families involved in the decision.
On Thursday, Jan. 17, at 3 p.m., a representative from the Cremation Society of Vermont will be at Neighborhood Connections to discuss cremation and the services available from the Society. Please call 802-824-4343 if you would like to attend.
Neighborhood Connections is a nonprofit social services agency serving nine area mountain towns of South Central Vermont. We are located in Londonderry’s Mountain Marketplace, next to the post office.
