CAVENDISH, Vt. – In the spirit of celebrating the villages of Proctorsville and Cavendish, a committee was formed in the spring of 2018 called Cavendish Streetscapes in an effort to fund and execute an initiative to hang American flags from utility poles lining Main Street in Cavendish and Proctorsville. The concept was enthusiastically embraced and through generous donations from townspeople and local businesses, enough money was raised to hang flags in a portion of Proctorsville in July 2018.

This spring, there is a plan to expand the placement of flags to include the village of Cavendish and around the green and down Depot Street in Proctorsville, as well as launch other beautification projects such as adding bridge flower planters and purchasing benches for our town green. These efforts embody the Cavendish Streetscapes mission statement of undertaking volunteer-led community initiatives to beatify our shared spaces and instill pride in our community.

If you would like to offer your support, please send donations to Cavendish Streetscapes, P.O. Box 605, Cavendish, VT 01542 or Cavendish Streetscapes through Go Fund Me. For questions or to become involved in the beautifying the communities of Cavendish and Proctorsville, please contact committee member Bruce McEnaney at 802-226-8045.
