Bellows Falls Senior Center updates

BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – Bellows Falls Senior Center is currently in need of a Bone Builders instructor to teach either Mondays and Fridays from 9-10 a.m. or 12-1 p.m. Anyone with six months of Bone Builders course experience can qualify as an instructor. Bone Builders currently has six classes per week.

We have several trips coming up in July. The Gad About Gals will be meeting Thursday, July 11 at 11:30 a.m. at Kendall’s Kitchen in Saxtons River. There will be a day trip to Mohegan Sun Wednesday, July 24. The van leaves at 8 a.m.

On July 31, we travel to Windsor, Vt. with stops including The American Precision Museum, Cornish Bridge, The Constitution House, shopping at King Arthur Flour, and lunch on your own at the Weathervane. Fee includes transportation and museum entries.

Basic Tai Chi for fall prevention is Thursdays, 12:15 -1 p.m. Please contact instructor Susan Williams at 802-376-5173 for more information. Treadmills and exercise bikes are available for use during senior center hours.

Chair caning meets Mondays at 1 p.m. If you have a chair that needs repair or would like to learn the art of chair caning, please stop by. The Knit and Stitch group meets Mondays and Wednesdays at 9 a.m. They can help you finish a project, repair an item, and they even take on special projects such as baby blankets and gifts.

Nickel Bingo is held every Tuesday starting at 12:30 p.m. with 20 games played.

The Bellows Falls Area Senior Center, 18 Tuttle St., is open to local seniors aged 50 and over. We do not charge membership fees so feel free to drop in and check us out.
