Tom Bock Announces Campaign for Election to the Vermont House of Representatives

I am pleased to announce that I am running as a Democrat for the Vermont House of Representatives seat, Windsor District 3-1, currently held by Leigh Dakin. I look forward to representing the towns of Chester, Andover, Baltimore, and North Springfield at the State House in Montpelier.

Having served on the Chester Board of Selectman for many years and currently chairing both the Chester Planning Commission and the Southern Windsor Regional Planning Commission, I have accumulated a good understanding of the needs and dynamics of our towns and have much experience on budgeting, capital planning, economic development, water and solar projects and human resource issues.

My wife, Mariette Boni Bock, and I have raised our family in Chester as I managed the Chester business operations of Readex Microprint Corporation/NewsBank, and owned and operated Vermont Ts, a small Vermont business. With our family and our businesses here, we have enjoyed the opportunities and challenges of living and working in rural Vermont. An important goal of mine is to provide the

resources to make our state an attractive place to live and work so that our children and young

families have good reasons to stay in Vermont.

In the upcoming 2017 legislative session, I am eager to be more involved with tackling many issues of concern to our residents including:

a. the stabilization of school consolidation and the education tax burden.

b. the continuing review of how to provide health care for all of Vermonters at an affordable cost.

c. the promotion of local and regional partnerships that involve the state, local towns

and the private sector to make our communities an attractive place to live and visit and to encourage economic development in our region.

d. ensuring that our schools starting at an early age, provide opportunity and education as to work place opportunities and requirements to be drug-free in the region.

e. the provision of opportunities to make our state an attractive place to live and work so that our children and young families have good reasons to stay in or return to Vermont.

I encourage you to vote for me in the Democratic primary on August 9, 2016. I look forward to meeting and talking with you and other constituents of our community as I go door to door throughout the District to meet with you.

I am happy to be contacted at 802-875-2222, or by email at with your questions and concerns.
