REGION – Green Mountain Gardeners is pleased to announce the availability of a $1,500 scholarship to a graduating senior planning to further his or her education with either college or vocational study in environmental sciences, landscape design, agriculture, or other related to the mission of the GMG. The student may be eligible to receive the grant each year they continue their studies for up to four years. Selection is based on financial need and potential school and community impact.
Applications for the GMG scholarship are available through area high school guidance departments or college counselors of Burr and Burton Academy, Green Mountain Union High School, Leland and Gray Union High School, Long Trail School, and Stratton Mountain School. Completed applications must be postmarked by April 22, 2019 and sent to the Green Mountain Gardeners Scholarship Committee, c/o Eileen Widger, 7142 Popple Dungeon Rd., N. Windham, VT 05143-9824 or to firstname.lastname@example.org. The scholarship award recipient will be notified by May 6.
This scholarship is made possible through the generosity of Elizabeth Thieme who was a founding member of the Green Mountain Gardeners, which was founded in 1975 and federated in 1982.
