Calling all gardeners

LUDLOW, Vt. – The Ludlow Garden Club will hold its first meeting of the year Thursday, May 9 at the Inn Victoria in Chester for a business meeting and luncheon. There will be a presentation by Rebecca Ruplin of Scarlet Scents Herbal Creations of Plymouth, Vt.

The garden club meets the second Thursday of the month from May to December with a variety of venues and programs. In June we will visit the extensive gardens of Marita Johnson in Springfield, Vt.

The Ludlow Garden Club, founded in 1941, offers educational and hands-on programs to promote an interest in all aspects of gardening. An important and visual project of the club is the beautification of our town. Club members provide many hours cleaning-up the mini park next to Town Hall and the Black River Academy Museum grounds. Members can be seen throughout the summer sporting their green garden club aprons, planting, watering, and maintaining the numerous planters throughout town.

Membership in Ludlow Garden Club is open to anyone interested in gardening and the continued beautification of Ludlow. Guests are always welcome. For more information, call Kay O’Hare at 802-228-2983.
