LUDLOW, Vt. – The Black River Academy Museum is honored to be joining the American Legion Ballard-Hobart Post 36 in an exhibition of military artifacts, many of them from members of the local community and dating back to the Civil War. Items in the exhibit will be from the museum’s collection along with artifacts from members of the American Legion. The exhibit will be open Saturday, Aug. 24, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
A chicken barbecue prepared by the Legion will be held at 11 a.m. Meal includes chicken with coleslaw, potato salad, and beans. Water and soda will be available along with desserts.
If you don’t have a chance to view the military artifacts during the day, please join in from 5:30 to 8 p.m. for continued viewing and a cocktail party with hors d’oeuvres.
Through the generosity of the American Legion, proceeds from all activities during the day will go towards the support of the Black River Academy Museum, 14 High St. in Ludlow. Join us for this daylong celebratory event as the American Legion celebrates 100 years of “Veterans still serving America.”
