BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – Starting on Monday, Oct. 2, be prepared for road construction if you happen to pass through downtown Bellows Falls. The construction is part of a sprinkler installation project for two buildings for businesses including the former SB & Co., J&H Hardware, and Edward Jones. One project will take place on Monday and Tuesday with the other project happening in the latter part of the week.

While the project should only take a week, construction will start around 7 a.m. and will include excavation of the road and sidewalks. Parking may be closed off or limited, but both car and foot traffic will be able to pass through the downtown area.

According to Municipal Manager Shane O’Keefe, the village is assisting with the cost of the materials, plumbing, and installation of this project for the businesses.

The installation of the sprinkler systems is part of a long-term project that will include paving the streets downtown, which is set to happen next summer.
