SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – Scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Springfield On The Move’s 5th annual Market Madness Committee is excited to announce that downtown will be rocking with live music all day.
The street fair will include: classic cars, a kid’s corner, face painting, carnival games, a bounce tent, Troy Wunderle of Circus Smirkus, Harpoon and Trout River Beer tents, arts and crafts, a BBQ bonanza, Farmers Market, quilt display and raffle, an ice cream social, Springfield Humane Society’s “kissing booth” a Dunk Tank, with more vendors joining daily!
Claremont Savings Bank is sponsoring a “Dunk Tank” which is sure to make a big splash! Over 30 brave “dunkees” that include many local folks well-known in the community (business heads, police officers, bankers, town and school officials and more) have signed up! Everyone can join in the fun with all proceeds going to Springfield On The Move (Springfield’s downtown revitalization organization).
Folks continue to join in to make this year’s event bigger and better than ever. There will be activities including DJ’s, boxing, weight lifting, Springfield’s Elks Club Barbeque and more in the Shopping Plaza as well as Downtown!
Downtown will be closed to thru traffic; however, bussing will be available from Riverside School and the Plaza with golf carts from River Street for those wishing transportation to downtown activities.
