REGION – The 2019 Iron Adventure Run of New England HOG Rally is coming to the Ludlow area from Thursday, July 18 through Saturday, July 20. Although centered around the Jackson Gore Inn at Okemo Resort in Ludlow, many of their scheduled tours will bring them throughout iconic areas and attractions throughout the state and includes closing ceremonies and a tattoo contest at the Chester town green. Organizers are anticipating over 1,000 participants will be attending this three-day event hosted by The Iron Adventure of New England and Harley Davidson.
Carol Lighthall from the Okemo Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce said, “We are excited to be the host community. This event will not only bring a strong financial impact to our area hotels and businesses, but more importantly it will introduce the Ludlow area as a return vacation destination to thousands of people across the country.”
The weekend has over 20 destination rides scheduled that bikers can choose from to explore all corners of the state and beyond the Vermont border as well. Some of the scheduled rides visit Coolidge Historical State Park and Vermont Country Store, Quechee Gorge, Sherburne Pass, Lincoln Gap, Smugglers Notch, Whiteface Mountain, Cabot Creamery, Ben & Jerry’s Factory, the Vermont Statehouse, and even into the Lake George region. Cheese stores, brewpubs, and wineries are also part of the fun, offering tastings and tours of their own.
According to their press release, “The attraction is the great roads that just wind on forever coupled with the sensational mountains and gorges in Vermont. These make the perfect recipe for motorcycle rides,” says Bruce Motta, HOG regional manager. “Combined with the beautiful scenery and welcoming people, it’s a perfect setting for a rally. We are so excited to bring this event back to the area.”
In addition to the amazing scenic rides, Okemo Mountain Resort has a full schedule of on mountain events. A parade of flags is also scheduled to run right through the center of Ludlow.
