Social media influencer marketing panel

April 19, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

REGION – The public is invited to attend a panel discussion: “Social Media Influencer Marketing – What is it? What are the Benefits?” The program, sponsored by Vermont Independent Media’s Media Mentoring Project, will take place on Wednesday, April 19 at 7 p.m. via Zoom. Basically, Social Media Influencers are social media users who have many followers serving to spread the word about what’s good.

Panelists include professional public relations and social media marketer Rosalie Hagel Martin, Blue Whale Public Relations, and Social Media Influencers Colleen Blair and her sister Erin Torres, representing Travel Like a Local, along with Greg Lesch, executive director of the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce who, along with the Downtown Business Alliance, oversees Brattleboro’s tourism marketing initiative.

The program will be moderated by Joyce Marcel, writer of award-winning cover stories for Vermont Business Magazine who also is legislative writer for The Commons.

To register for the “Social Media Influencer Marketing” workshop, please email: ziagulazimi9@gmail.com for the Zoom link.

About the Panelists:

Rosalie Hagel Martin is a 25+ year public relations industry professional whose experience spans a variety of industries and disciplines – from tourism and hospitality to health and wellness, food and beverage, entertainment, education, financial services and philanthropy. Rosalie has spent her career on the fast-paced agency side of PR, working for boutique firms and two of the industry’s leading independent agencies before founding Blue Whale Public Relations in 2017, which has proudly served as the AOR for #LoveBrattleboroVT since 2021.

Erin Torres is a Vermont blogger, writer and realtor who started the popular website “Travel like a Local: Vermont” in 2015 as a resource for Vermonters and travelers to the state to find local recommendations. Erin is passionate about highlighting adventures, new experiences, and things to see and do throughout the state.

Colleen Blair is the Boston-based blogger and content creator behind “Travel Like a Local: MA” (@travelikealocalma), which focuses on travel across Massachusetts and New England. A trusted source for those living in and visiting the region, she covers destinations, hotels, and restaurants, as well as cultural attractions, outdoor adventures, events, and local businesses, all from the perspective of a local resident.

Gregory Lesch has served as Executive Director of the Brattleboro Area Chamber of Commerce for the past two years, but his tenure there goes back twenty. Through the Chamber, he engages with the Downtown Brattleboro Alliance in a joint venture of the Community Marketing Initiative (CMI) – a dynamic program promoting greater Brattleboro as a destination.

Who should attend: Anyone who wants to learn how to bring low-cost awareness to their product, business, non-profit, event, attraction, etc.
