With the help of a very generous community, Black River Good Neighbor Services Food Shelf is pleased to announce a successful Holiday 2018 Stuff-A-Bus! Shaw’s of Ludlow, a strong supporter, went over and above this year sharing with customers the need to fill the bus. The good-will offered by Shaw’s is a strong boost for this amazing community effort. We are most fortunate and so very thankful.
We must also acknowledge some other amazing folks who helped to make this event possible. Chris Barlow, bus driver, did so much more; he and his wife Wanda worked throughout the day assisting with food donations – wow! And, our appreciation is extended to the town of Ludlow for providing the bus.
Others who participated were the Cavendish Girls Scouts, serving enthusiastically as great cheerleaders for the event. Also, the Newsome family bringing so much cheer and boundless energy! We are grateful for their presence, they were all terrific workers! Under the gentle guidance of BRGNS Board member Jane Pixley, the event was well coordinated and food was collected, counted, and delivered to the food shelf in record time.
And, most important, a sincere thank you to the greater Ludlow community for donating food to fill the bus. Our neighbors in need, especially during the holiday season, benefit greatly as we continue to serve and assist.
