Cornerstone Creative Community hosts networking event

WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. – Cornerstone Creative Community of Vermont (3CVT), a committee of professionals working within the local creative economy, is hosting its second regional mashup at the Center for Cartoon Studies, in White River Junction, on Sunday, March 25, from noon to 4:30 p.m. This is a free event with a potluck lunch.

3CVT is connecting the creative economy of east central Vermont, which contributes approximately 8.9 percent to the total region’s employment. This 40-town region stretches from the Connecticut River in the east, to Rochester, Stockbridge, and Bridgewater in the west, from Newbury and Topsham in the north to Springfield and Chester in the south.

All individuals and organizations, working in the midst of the region and its boundaries, are invited to this second free grassroots networking event, for all those engaged in the promotion of the arts, working artists, musicians, performers, culinary arts, publishing, film, IT, and the design world.

Potluck, networking, introductions, and the review of the graphic recordings from the first mashup for newcomers from 12 – 2 p.m. Eric Bunge, managing director of Northern Stage; Matt Bucy, community developer and filmmaker; and Trip Anderson, executive director of AVA Gallery will discuss their personal, and professional views on community development, and the creative economy, from 2 to 3 p.m. 3CVT will discuss current projects and invite community input from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

This unique networking event is designed to explore the benefits of the Connection Economy, and the opportunities it presents for our local Vermont region, aligning communities to work smarter, not harder. Anni Mackay, owner and director of BigTown Gallery, said, “We’re focused on neighbor to neighbor, community to community, and region-wide connect-the-dots to showcase the extraordinary hive of local creative activity for the benefit of visitors and residents alike.”

3CVT is in partnership with Two Rivers Ottaquechee Regional Commission (TRORC), the Green Mountain Economic Development Corporation (GMEDCC), East Central Vermont Economic Development District (ECVEDD), the Vermont Arts Council, artists, entrepreneurs, and professionals, and is building their partnership base of support through these networking events. The third networking event will be on Friday, June 8, 2018 in the Springfield, Vt. area.
