BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. – The Vermont Summer Group Show is on view to the public now through Aug. 17. Join us July 19, from 5-8 p.m. to meet the artists. Take part in viewing this collection of over 70 works of art from 19 artists working in Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York. Enjoy live music with x+1 acoustic bass and sax jazz.

The featured artists are Clare Adams, Jean Cannon, Terry A. Carter, Nancy Fitz-Rapalje, Kathleen Gatto-Gurney, Kim Grall, Corinne Greenhalgh, Carol Keiser, Jeremy Kraft, Carla Liguori, Jeanne McMahan, Lisa Eckhardt McNealus, Amy Pandolfi, Gil Perry, Mark Ragonesse, Melissa Rubin, Matthew Saxton, Jeffrey Spring, and Rodrica Tilley.

Clare Adams, based in the village of Cambridgeport, presents drypoint etching prints of the landscapes surrounding her studio. Her influence comes from Asian arts as well as her interest in reviving old techniques. All serve to inform her observational landscape prints and her abstract designs.

Terry A. Carter, based in Brattleboro, uses a background in drawing and study in fine arts to create intricate patterns and designs, each inspired by the carefully treated gourd it is painted on. The work is presented as sculpture, while keeping the natural shape of each gourd.

Carla Liguori of Bellows Falls, and Toms River of New Jersey work with the materials of clay, needle felting, found objects, paint, glazes, and most recently kiln-fired glass, to create mixed media anthropomorphic sculptures.

Mark Ragonese, based in Bellows Falls, is a master woodworker, sculptor, and multimedia artist who designs and builds one-of-a-kind fine furniture, sculpture, and outdoor site and event specific installations. He stresses the importance of individuality, membership in a community, and the significance of a handmade object.

Canal Street Art Gallery, located at 23 Canal St. in Bellows Falls, is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and all other days by appointment. For more information, go to, call 802-289-0104, or email
