At the North Pole, each child meets Santa and can also enjoy costumed characters for outdoor entertainment, soups and sandwiches from Smokin’ Bowls, a dessert cart, and more.
Please arrive between 9-9:30 a.m. for the 10 a.m. ride or 1-1:30 p.m. for the 2 p.m. ride. Purchase your tickets at Village Square Booksellers in Bellows Falls, Blair Books & More in Chester, online at www.susval.org, or call 802-376-9534. Proceeds benefit the Bellows Falls Middle School Band Friends and Destination Bellows Falls and Beyond.
This scenic route has a long heritage of scenic excursions going back to 1964 when Monadnock Steamtown and Northern Amusement ran the stunningly beautiful Bellows Falls to Chester route. The historic station in Bellows Falls has a passenger waiting room outfitted for the holidays including early 20th century benches from the old Boston South Station, Oak and Tin Phone Booth, and interpretive displays from the New England Transportation Institute and Museum.
