Holiday choral concert presented by Springfield Community Chorus

REGION – Start your holiday season in the spirit of song. Join the Springfield Community Chorus as they sing their holiday concerts, Dec. 7 and 8. Under the direction of Kenneth Olsson, the chorus is featuring the “Hallelujah Chorus” of G.F. Handel’s “Messiah” and an Irving Berlin medley of “Count your Blessings Instead of Sheep,” “Happy Holidays,” and “White Christmas.” The chorus will also sing an a cappella collection of Christmas favorites arranged by Kirby Shaw. A favorite of children and young at heart adults will be “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas,” written by Clement Moore and arranged by Harry Simeone. The concert will end with “O Holy night.”

The Saturday, Dec. 7 concert will be at the First Baptist Church, 162 Main Street in Chester, at 7:30 p.m. The Sunday, Dec. 8 concert will begin at 3 p.m. at the First Congregational Church UCC, 77 Main Street, Springfield.
