CHESTER, Vt. – The featured exhibit at the Whiting Library on Main Street for the months of November and December will be the legacy journey of local doll artist Bonnie Watters. Approaching 50 years, 43 of them in Chester, Watters will share some of favorite designs, some with motif eyes and others with real eyes, all classically dressed in layers of at least four calicos. Suzy and Grace have been selected to issue the invitation on posters around the community.
Watters is supported by her husband Lew, who takes photographs and maintains her website. They will share not only the dolls but also their incredible historic journey with links to Butterick Pattern Co., craft fairs, and teaching workshops at Chester-Andover Elementary School. You will learn who has sewn with Watters and how many dolls have found homes.
On Wednesdays, Watters will be present from 4:15 to 5:15 p.m. for the after school program, and a reception will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Come meet the Bundle family and their parents. For more information, call 802-875-2114 or visit www.bonniesbundlesdolls.com.
