At Stemwinder, their goal is simple – to create a comfortable place for people to experience excellent and outstanding food, wine, service and company in a unique atmosphere.
Stemwinder represents the shared vision of owners Leslie Stuart and Wendy Neal, who are passionate about good wine and food. Leslie owns and operates The Wine & Cheese Depot and Wendy is the chef/owner of A Catered Affair. The name “Stemwinder” had a lot of thought behind it. Stemwinder contains references to wine, food, people and geography. Their location, Depot Street, was also taken into consideration, and their association with The Wine & Cheese Depot. The term Stemwinder stood out to Wendy and Leslie because of the dual reference to a wine glass stem and a depot – a street, train station, or shop.
They have created a welcoming venue for people to experience an interesting and diverse selection of wine and craft beer, paired with delicious fresh food that is sourced locally whenever possible. The concept is small plate dining where guests can mix and match, sampling several different menu items, including a Vermont cheese plate.
A visit to Stemwinder is an excellent way to end a day on the slopes, start an evening out or enjoy a light dinner and glass of wine.
